Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
LLLT technology is clinically proven to significantly reduce circumference and fat. It’s efficacy is backed up by several clinical (and pre-clinical) studies that established its beneficial effects in the wavelength range of 630-670nm on circumference and fat reduction. These studies included hundreds of subjects, were conducted in certified clinics and were all backed up by strong statistical analysis. It was concluded that the circumference of the LLLT treated subjects was significantly reduced compared to the people who were not treated with LLLT.
The LLLT effect was also demonstrated in several laboratory experiments. The following are SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) images of adipocytes following LLLT, minutes after exposure. Here you can clearly see the perforation of the fat cell membrane:

And here you can see how triglycerides (a type of fat) and fatty acids are secreted from the adipocytes (fat cells) and how cells shrink considerably.

Professional FDA medically approved systems like iLipo and Strawberry were developed based on these clinical studies, and they successfully employ the LLLT wavelength within the studied range. Silk'n Lipo employs a LLLT wavelength of 658nm that is also well within the proven range.
In the table below you can see that LLLT in Silk'n Lipo is within the range set of these medical systems:

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) has been used for many years by physical therapists to maintain or improve muscular strength in immobilized muscle following surgery. Experiments with this technology showed an improvement of up to 40% in muscle strength. In recent years, fitness equipment companies have imported the benefits of EMS to the gym environment, to enhance workouts.
Studies that investigated abdominal stimulation by EMS found that it was well tolerated, and that it increased abdominal strength and endurance significantly, decreased waist circumference, and improved abdominal firmness and tone.
Based on these findings, a full body application of EMS, coupled with extensive workout, became increasingly popular, until some serious adverse effects started to appear. Users of full EMS body workouts reported that they suffered from rhabdomyolysis (a breakdown of muscle), followed by the release of a protein called myoglobin into the bloodstream.
It is important to understand that the EMS in Silk'n Lipo is applied only in the treated area, and is not intended for use whilst exercising, or working out. When used correctly, the EMS in Silk'n Lipo is harmless, and contributes to the LLLT effect by both toning the muscles in the treated area, and by facilitating faster removal of the secreted fatty contents of fat cells through the lymphatic system.
